Makeup Trends 2020

The aesthetics of visual content matters. So if you are in the video production industry yourself or require video services from a video agency, you will want to make sure that your video looks good and appeals to your target audience. Of course, the market research you carry out pre-production will answer to you what looks good to your target customer group. However, besides that, if you are planning to include real actors into your video and not just intending to make animation videos, you will need to stay abreast of the latest beauty trends. Keeping updated with the latest trends in fashion will in fact, benefit the aesthetics of your animated video too. Below, we discuss the biggest make up trends of 2020.

·         Fluffy and feathered eyebrows – Gone are the days of thin, drawn-in brows. Well, at least as gone as a trend can be over. The eyebrow trend of the year is full, unapologetic, lived-in brows. Cartoonish Instagram Brows are a thing of the past. In 2020, the trend is to flaunt off feathered brows. You can create perfectly feathered eyebrows with a nicely angled brush and some soap.

·         Glass skin – Glowy glassy skin is about to blow up even further in 2020. You can easily sport this latest beauty trend by applying a mixture of cream highlighters, moisturizers, and oils, for good measure. You can also take the glassy effect a notch higher by using strobe cream after moisturizing but before applying any foundation. If you are going to be using setting powders on your face to seal the look, only do so in certain parts of it to avoid an excessively oily look.

·         Floating eyeliner – 2020 has seen people really ditch the traditional black eyeliner for colorful floating liners in bright colors. You can create your own eyeliner shade with a white eyeliner pencil and a sharp-angled brush. Press a bright eyeshadow into the shape you want to create with an eyeshadow color that you prefer.

·         Lower liner – We’ve traditionally always concentrated on our upper lash line but 2020 is not having it anymore. To play around with the lower liner trend, all you need to do is line your lower eyelashes with the same color or a lighter shade of the same color.

·         Colorblocking – If monochromatic makeup was the beauty trend of 2019, 2020 is when we bring out vivid color shades and intentionally color block for fun. You can dash a pop of color on your eyes or put on some bright lipstick while you leave your eyes bare. It’s a cool way to experiment with colors without necessarily blocking say, a fuchsia shade with a yellow ochre.

·         Watercolor eyes – You can get the watercolor effect for your eyes by using a soft blending brush, brushing off some pastel pink blush/eyeshadow, and popping it into your eyelid and the crease of your eyes. Use your blending brush to create a soft hue of color that wraps around your eye. You may also use shades of lilac or lavender for your eyeshadow.

·         Accent Inner Corners on Fresh Skin – You can use a pop of color to change the appearance of your entire face. Focus on achieving a clean skin and a neutral eye. Prepare your face with a concealer and foundation to receive a smooth finish. Then, proceed to add color to the inner-corners of your eyes. Even a smattering of color in the tear duct of your eyes can sufficiently make your eyes pop.

·         Using negative space – Makeup artists and frequent makeup users are regularly trying to find innovative ways to apply makeup. They realize that, perhaps, loud and bronzey glam is not for the everyday. With negative space makeup, you can try all kinds of lines, colors and shapes. In order to flaunt this style, you simply leave a part of your eyes unpainted such as your eyelid with a bold cut crease.

·         Less Powder – Makeup influencers are moving away from powder based makeup products to ones that provide your skin with more hydration, such as skin mists.

Producing a video or commissioning a video production company to create a marketing video for you? Try to incorporate the above mentioned makeup trends into the style look-book of your actors. It will help your video receive all the audience's attention it rightfully deserves.
